In Memory of the Charlotte Bobcats

CATS
After being swept by the Miami Heat, the Bobcats will exist no more. They’ll go back to the Hornets, and everyone wants this to happen because who wants to remember this team, really?Once I went to a Bobcats pre-season scrimmage, back when Larry Brown swore he wanted to be closer to his mother or something, and Gerald Wallace was on the team and so was Sean May (oh man) and I’m pretty sure Raymond Felton was still around, but I don’t know about Stephen Jackson or Adam Morrison. As evidenced by the players named above, this was basically the Washington Generals All-Star team, because they each knew their role and played it–Brown as the overdemanding coach who just wanted something a little “extra” from everyone, Wallace as the bouncy pogo stick, May who was generally large and happy to get his checks, and Raymond Felton, who seemed to be as equally large and unimpressed. No matter who came and went with the Bobcats, I think May and Felton are pretty talismans to remember the Bobcats by. They were successful college basketball players that played in the state of North Carolina, who were infinitely more popular as Tar Heels than anyone in the Bobcats organization would be, save for the Airness upstairs.

But that trend, choosing players based on their collegiate merit (see Walker, Kemba and Henderson, Gerald) should have ended with Adam Morrison but didn’t…

LET’S JUST END THIS ARTICLE, BECAUSE THAT’S ALL I CAN THINK OF OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD ABOUT THE BOBCATS, DO YOU REALLY THINK I’M GOING TO DO ANY RESEARCH ABOUT THE BOBCATS, LONG LIVE THE HORNETS, THE HORNETS, BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ FOREVER BUZZ.
