Choose Your Own Kobe Retirement Column

Kobe is a polarizing sports figure. A lot of people love him. But a lot of people hate him too. Like your politics, your opinion of Kobe is set and it’s probably never going to change. So I wrote a Kobe retirement piece for Kobe fans and Kobe haters. Pick whichever justifies your own personal recollection of history.

Kobe is the GOAT

What can I say about Kobe Bryant?

5 Championships. 17 time All-Star. 2 Scoring Titles. 4 Time All-Star MVP. 2 Time Finals MVP. 2 Gold Medals. 63 points in 3 quarters. 81. Teammates feared him. A man who played how HE wanted and didn’t listen to others. It was HIS way or the highway. He saved the Lakers with HERO-ball and was unapologetic about it. The Mamba would strike whenever he wanted.

He will never see anyone else like him.

What can I say about Kobe Bryant?

Selfish. Couldn’t work with Shaq. Couldn’t work with Phil. Couldn’t work with Pau. In the lottery 3 times. 2 years 48 million. Teammates feared him. A man who played how HE wanted and didn’t listen to others. It was HIS way or the highway. He killed the Lakers with HERO-ball and was unapologetic about it. The Mamba would strike whenever he wanted.

He will never see anyone else like him.
